This position has been created to assist with performing on-site medical screening specifically for COVID-19 as a means of prevention of spread within the Community.
The Screener position actively assess and screens staff two times during their shift. Conducts the COVID-19 screening assessment with every Community Member, and Visitor when they enter and exit the Community.
Through the assessment process, the Screener will guide and coach staff in practices to ensure compliance, including providing tools such as symptom self-assessment and hand hygiene self-assessment, and isolation recommendations. The Screener will answer questions, field inquiries, directs Team Members and Community Members to appropriate resources and identify gaps in documentation, information, or knowledge for review with The Wellness Lead it Community Director.
The Screener will operate within the protocols established for screening for possible COVID-19 infection utilizing screening questions, a brief exam consisting of a tympanic temperature, and general appearance according to the protocols.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Administering Screening questions directly to Team Members, Community Members and Visitors;
- Screening Team Members at start and end of site;
- Screening Community Members and Visitors when entering and exiting the building;
- Administering and interpreting the temperature of an individual utilizing tympanic thermometers according to manufacturer’s instructions and CDC guidance for personal protection.
- Reporting cases of positive and negative responses according to established protocols while remaining cognizant of appropriate reporting requirements.
- Don and Doff PPE as required within the protocol for performing medical screening
- Document findings and results of the Medical Screening with the Wellness Lead
- Sanitizing parcels and drop off's at the front door

COMPUTER SKILLS:
- General computer literacy and proficiency required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to speak/write clearly and directly while effectively communicating.
- Ability to intake multiple pieces of information from multiple sources, prioritize and summarize in a clear, concise and accurate manner to all appropriate stakeholders.
- Prioritize and coordinate multiple events simultaneously.
- Ability to probe for more detail during Screening questions.
- Ethical understanding of confidentiality and personal health information data management.
- Remain compliant with VIVA’s privacy and respect in the workplace training.
